Freedom QJ League: JAKO boosts youth football in Kazakhstan
A partnership with a bright future for the next generation of footballers.
Since 2023, the Freedom QJ League has been breathing new life into youth football in Kazakhstan. Under the patronage of the Kazakhstan Football Federation, boys in the U15 to U18 age groups and U17 girls’ teams compete against one another in a regular league format featuring home and away fixtures. In doing so, the league creates an environment for young talents that specifically prepares them for the next step in their football careers.
Ideal conditions for young talent
As an official partner, JAKO has been supporting the Freedom QJ League since 2025, providing kit for coaches, league staff and players at the annual All-Star Match. This partnership helps to further develop the league and offers young talent the best possible conditions for their sporting careers.
The league’s positive development is reflected in its sporting successes and growing reach. The Kazakhstani U17 and U19 national teams reached the final qualifying round for the UEFA European Championship for the first time in their history. In its fourth season, around 2,000 players took part in 66 teams from 18 regions across Kazakhstan.
QJL All Star Match against Borussia Mönchengladbach
One of the highlights of the season was the QJL All Star Match in Almaty. The match saw a selection of the best U18 players from the Freedom QJ League take on Borussia Mönchengladbach’s youth team. In front of more than 3,000 spectators, an exciting contest unfolded, which, after a 0–0 draw in normal time, was only decided in a penalty shoot-out. The Kazakhstani side prevailed 6–5. The match was broadcast live on national television and on YouTube.
The youth team took to the pitch wearing JAKO retro kits. Furthermore, JAKO was present throughout the event with presentation, training and matchwear.
Creating opportunities for young talent together
The partnership between JAKO and the Freedom QJ League goes beyond simply providing kit. At its heart is the shared aim of opening up long-term opportunities for young footballers and creating the best possible conditions for their sporting development. In this way, JAKO is contributing to the future of youth football in Kazakhstan.
